‘One’ – Folding Bicycle by Thomas Owen
‘One’ provides a real solution to the problems involved with urban transport. With congestion rapidly clogging up the roads the need for products that can free individuals from their car are in real demand. Bendable Bicycle Concept [link]
Innovative bike, designed by Kevin Scott, comes with a bendable frame that allows the bicycle to be wrapped around a lamp post. Ratchet system built into the frame enables it to fold around poles and allows both wheels and the frame to be secured with one bicycle lock.
Wheel Folding System
The Wheel is composed by six modules, each one has a double pivot in the joints, this allows the wheel to fold and become smaller, the spokes are contained in the inner structure of the wheel, when you unfold the system, the spokes rotate to the center of the mechanism where it attach to the center of the wheel.
Bike Structure System
The double triangule structure is composed by expandable modules, each one collapses to a smaller dimension and then this modules align by the rotation of the axis in the joint of the structure, to keep in position all the structure is used an special part in a form of an X that aligns all the modules to their position.

Undoubtedly the bicycle is the most eco friendly commuting mechanism for urban settings. It helps cut down pollution, ensures good health and gets you to places with ease through heavy traffic. Given all the benefits the humble bike endows let’s take a look at Carrier Bike from Korean designer Shin Hyung Sub Shin. The foldable bike changes forms to function in both carrier and riding mode.
The bike design lays great stress on comfort in helping the biker carry belongings. The foldable structure of the bike has a shelf right in the center to store the user’s miscellany stuff. Even as the bike makes transition from carrier to bicycling mode the storage shelf remains in place without hindering riding ability in any way besides preventing theft. The bicycle is powered by an electric motor and a battery. It features spoke-less wheels and a handle bar that can also be used as a carrier handle.
